Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. We work to preserve history and promote patriotism. We do this by helping to preserve Civil War battlefields, historic sites and Union monuments, and by participating in ceremonies on national and local holidays. We have a scholarship program. The Daughters also maintain a free public Civil War Museum in Springfield, Illinois. Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System.
Wednesday, March 28th, 2018. The first two phases of the Franklin Trail are open. All that remains to once again connect our community to its beloved backcountry wilderness areas is Phase III. Your support is needed to complete the trail through the Los Padres National Forest. The views from the mountain crest are spectacular. We Still Need Your Help! Friends of Franklin Trail.
